Methi balancing Tridosha
Methi balances Vaat and Kaph. Methi increases Pitt causing more saliva in the mouth
which in turn helps decrease acidity. Methi also helps to cure burping & an ailment
where the taste of food remains in the mouth for hours after eating the food.
How to use:
Warm water & soak methi overnight and in the morning chew and eat it. Saliva
production increases and this saliva is a medicine.
Any achar made with methi and/ or ajwain is medicine. Methi and ajwain tones
down the effects of fruits or veg in the achaar and makes the achar a medicine.
Methi in achaar becomes 20 times more potent than soaking methi in water
from the night before.
Chunna(lime) balancing Tridosha
Chuna destroys Vaat. Chuna is high in calcium content. Calcium is the one micro nutrient
which is needed in the body to recognize other micro nutrients.
For eg.. even
if you consume orange for Vitamin C, your body won’t be able to make use of it
without calcium. Deficiency of calcium can lead to muscle pain, bone diseases,
blood diseases, Kaph diseases. People who eat paan with chuna after food will never
have Vaat problem.
Other sources of calcium are milk, dahi, mattha, ghee, orange, musambi, angur, mango
etc. Fruits that are khatta in taste have more calcium. Banana has a very high content
of calcium.
If chuna causes skin tear when taken directly, then dilute it with water.
Calcium deficiency in women
Till 40 years of age calcium is absorbed from the food eaten, but this calcium absorption
is very difficult after 40 years of age (after menopause) as the hormone
that helps to digest calcium is no longer produced. Hence after 40 years of age intake
of calcium is essential. Chuna has the most calcium content & eating paan
with chuna will balance all the Tridosha.
